March 6, 2020

Today we did some more of our Iqaluit research today. We are going to start making our class book next week! We also went down to the gym to watch the Grade 1 Learning Celebration, they did an awesome job! Reminders: If you have any packing peanuts, bubble wrap, or extra fabric at home, can you please bring them in for a class project that we are going to be starting next week.

January 8, 2020

Today we continued working on Shape and Space in Math. We had to cut out different shapes and figure out how we could fit them into a square. Then we had to try to build and create animals out of the shape tiles. This afternoon we went to the library. We are going to start going to the library every Wednesday afternoon to exchange our books. After the library, we started learning about lobster fishing, so that we can start building our own lobster traps!

March 2, 2020

This morning we started doing two rotations of Daily 5! This means that we can get more reading and writing time, and Ms. Coutts has more time to work with small groups of students each day. After gym today we started our March Calendars. They will be coming home when they are done. This afternoon, Mrs. Sherren was in our classroom, and we worked on looking at the Beginning, Middle, and End of the book Zoom. We are going to be working on a few really cool projects in the next few weeks. If anyone has any packing peanuts, bubble wrap, or styrofoam that they don't need, please bring them into Ms. Coutts for these projects.
